Power Friday – Week 18
Funny thing about goals
Goals are good to have, but you can always change or postpone them. They’re not set in stone (unless you happened to chisel them out of a slab of granite, but that’s just weird). It may be something that we really, really want to do. For some reason, it just has to be put off for another day.
I’ve been training for a powerlifting meet since March. My strength has jumped through the roof since beginning. There is no better way, in my opinion, to build good overall strength.
The dilemma
My goal has been to compete in August. My back has been acting up the past few weeks. That’s life. The soreness is not training related, but an old football injury (good lord that sounds lame). Squats and deadlifts have not been top of my list of things to do. The whole thing is making me think of moving on to another goal, and completing this one at a later date.
What next?
I’ve been wanting to do a review of P90X for some time. This may be the time to do the 90 day program, hopefully building on my core strength, and providing you with an unbiased review.
These weekly reports will still happen, as I enjoy doing them.
You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Gotta take care of the back. I think it’s a good idea. Plus, I’ve been looking for that review of P90X. Every time that I’ve seen a review, it’s been done by one of the “coaches” (MLM).

Glad you like the idea. I’m planning to start on Monday.

You’re right. That;s basically what I tell people. Set a goal (for weight loss in my case) and be prepared for bumps in the road like travel, injuries and holidays.

The old “prepare for the worst, hope for the best” plan.
